Jacob's first day.

Jacob started 1st grade yesterday, August 25. He was VERY nervous! He had such a serious look on his face all morning and when I would ask him what was wrong he would say "I don't know." Even though this is his second year in school, it was his first day at this particular school, so I was a little nervous for him too. When we dropped him off, I hugged him and told him to have a good day and he just latched on to my waist and held on tight. He looked as if he was about to cry, but was trying desperately to hold back the tears. His teacher was there and asked him to start the line because it was about time to go in. She took his hand and walked off. My sweet boy is growing up!

The smile on Justin's face comes from the fact that he is not starting school until Wednesday. He was overjoyed about this. We had to meet with Justin's teacher and on the way out, we saw Jacob and his class coming into the building. He looked like he was doing better so I was not too worried. I was excited to pick him up and see how his day was. As they were coming out the door, he saw me, ran up to me, gave me a big hug and said "I already made two new friends...ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!" I was so proud for him. Needless to say, he was no longer nervous and was looking forward to going to school today. One down, one to go.
