I thought starting a blog would be a cool neat way to share things with our family that is across the country. We are loving Denver! You never know what the weather is going to be like. Two days ago it was in the 90s. Today it is a high of 58. As it stands right now, we don't really want to leave. We have spent most of our first few weeks here trying to get things in order. The apartment that we had in California was furnished because the travel company that Tom works for paid for it all. However, we chose to rent out own place this time so that we could have our Lola with us. We have
rummaged the thrift stores to furnish our new place as cheaply as possible. Also, the boys will be starting school here (Jacob in 1st grade and Justin in Kindergarten). I can see Jacob getting a little excited about it (I mean he made friends in the ticket line at the movies today), but Justin doesn't believe that it will be fun. He is more of a prove-it-to-me type person anyway. We'll see how it goes!
The only place we've had a chance to go was Mt. Evans. It is known as the highest paved road in America and it was beautiful even though it was overcast and 54 degrees.

On the way back, we stopped at the best little BBQ place. I haven't had fried okra since we left Florida and I really enjoyed it. The only thing that is a little hard to find around here is sweet tea, much to Jacob's dismay. But for the view and all the sights around here, I am willing to sacrifice. I guess I could always make it myself, but Jacob has the sweet tooth of a true Southerner. There are many places that we plan to see including Pikes Peak, the Denver Zoo, and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The weather is changing quickly though and many of the mountain passes will be closed by the end of the month.
I'll be sure to keep
ya'll updated!
