Ah, December...

I can't believe it is December and the Christmas season is upon us. Time flies when you're having fun, right? Christmas will be a little different this year. Not only has the poor economy reached the North Pole, as I had to explain to Jacob when he said that he would just ask from Santa what Mommy and Daddy couldn't get him, but this Mommy is seriously tired of how commercialized our lives have become. I really feel that I have started becoming more of the person/mother/wife I want to be and I want to do things different. I want my kids to hold on to the creativeness and imagination they naturally have. Therefore, Christmas will involve gifts I feel help nourish those traits. I am a fan of the website and blog www.imaginechildhood.com and plan on ordering a few items from them. I love handmade things and things that remind me of my own childhood when we "had three TV channels you got up to change", spent most of my days outside, drawing, sewing with my grandma, or riding on the tractor with my grandpa. I am working on taking us back to a simpler way of life.
