Field Trip...

Yesterday was field trip day.  The boys, Rita, and I took a ride on the Light Rail all the way to downtown Denver's 16th Street Mall.  For those that live in a city, this may not be a big deal, but it was a new experience for all of us.  It was nice to ride and be able to look at everything you may miss while driving a car.  Downtown is so full of great architecture, history, and interesting people.  The boys were not overly excited about getting off the Rail to go shopping, so we didn't stay downtown very long, just long enough to enjoy a late lunch and a cookie (from The Corner Bakery which was fabulous).

The real adventure was getting on and off the train.  The parking lot is across the street from the station and you walk on a walkway that goes over I-25.  The boys really enjoyed running across and looking out over all the traffic.  Rita had a little bit of a hard time though due to a fear she has, but she did it!

"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.  You are able to say to yourself, - I have lived through this...I can take the next thing that comes along.

You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
-Eleanor Roosevelt
